Heartwood Grove School welcomes applicants and families without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or national origin, and with or without world language experience. We seek students and families passionate about language immersion, and who desire a small, nurturing, yet intellectually stimulating environment.
Our school offers a curriculum full of enriching literature, art, and global connections.
We admit new students during two phases of our program: Early Kindergarten through 2nd grade, and 5th through 7th grade. If your child's grade level is outside these windows, but he or she has substantial immersion experience, we welcome you to contact us to discuss.
Early Kindergarten requires your child to turn 5 between June 1 and December 31. · Information about tuition and fees is available here.
Early Kindergarten – 2nd grade
Immersion in French and Spanish from the start. No prior language experience required.
Early K: child must turn 5 between Jun 1 and Dec 31
5th – 7th grade
Older beginners join for language immersion. Academic assessments are part of the process.
German added in 5th grade
Complete a brief interest form to introduce your family to us. Just click the Express Interest link below. We'll ask for basic contact information and a few details about your child.
We'll review your form and follow up personally. From there we'll determine together whether it makes sense to move forward.
Our open houses are not a required part of the application process, but they offer a wonderful opportunity to experience our school community firsthand. We publish open house dates on our landing page as they are scheduled and we encourage you to let us know of your interest so that we may notify you as dates are added.
For families and the school to get to know each other, we'll invite you for an initial classroom visit and provide you with a link to complete a formal application (with a non-refundable $55 application fee). Depending on your child's age and circumstances, the visit or the application may come first — we'll work that out with you directly.
The initial visit is an opportunity to get the lay of the land: meet the teachers, see the classrooms in action and get a feel for our community.
Once the application step is complete, we'll invite your child for a second visit — one with more structure. This gives both your family and the school a deeper, more substantive understanding of how your child engages with our environment and curriculum. This visit will include academic assessments.
If we conclude that Heartwood Grove is a good fit for your child, we'll extend an invitation to enroll — issuing an Annual Enrollment and Tuition Agreement. Your child's space is held for 30 days while you review and return the signed agreement along with the enrollment deposit.
Additional meetings or visits may be requested by either side at any point to make sure the school is the right fit.
We welcome your questions and look forward to helping you explore a language immersion education for your child at Heartwood Grove School. Please ask us about or keep any eye out for one of our periodic open houses. They offer a great opportunity to meet the teachers and get a feel for our vibrant school community.
